Color selection day - the most stressful day of the year.
Granite or quartz? Backsplash or extend the countertop? Carpet in the bonus room, or add the level 5 tile from the family room? Where do the outlets go? Gas, electric, or induction stove? Counter-depth refrigerator or full size? Stacking washer and dryer? Pool or spa - wait, that's an entirely different fiasco that deserves its own post.
Buying and building a new home is one of the craziest things you'll ever do. And especially in the post-quarantine world where production levels have returned to normal but shipping logistics haven't. We have neighbors who have been waiting for windows for over six months. Today, you'll need to choose your colors and styles 12-18 months before you'll see them. We're really hoping trends will slow down a bit because who knows what new looks and innovations will be here in a year and a half! And once it's ordered, you can't change it cheaply.
We did the best we could. To be honest, this is the fourth time we've done this, so we know the routine. But the delay has never been this long. We're a little concerned. Stay tuned to hear about all our crazy new home adventures!
