Assembly Guide: Putting the Plezo Together

One of the best parts about the Tenvels Plezo electric bike is the unboxing. It comes 90-95% assembled, and the packaging is excellent. Here is your step-by-step guide to getting it road-ready. We show the highlights in our review video, but here’s a quick summary.

1. Unboxing

Cut the straps and packaging off, but be very careful not to cut any cables! Scan the QR code on the box for the official manual if needed.

2. Handlebars First

Remove the front fork spacer (use a 15mm wrench if needed).
Pro Tip: Install the handlebars before the front wheel so they don’t dangle.
Remove the four Allen bolts on the stem, place the handlebars, and tighten the faceplate back on.
Make sure the brakes are facing the front. Use the embedded leveling mechanism to ensure they are straight.

3. The Front Wheel

Drop the front wheel into the forks.
Tricky Part: Align the rotor so it slides perfectly between the brake caliper pads.
Tighten the nuts on the axle very, very well. There are no lock washers, so torque is key.

4. Fender and Headlight

Remove the existing bolt on the front fork bridge.
Order of assembly: Headlight goes on front, fender goes on the back.
Secure the fender stays to the bolts on the bottom of the fork.

5. The Pedals

Critical Step: The pedals are marked Left (L) and Right (R).
The Right pedal tightens clockwise.
The Left pedal tightens counter-clockwise (reverse thread).
Use your 15mm wrench and make sure these are tight so they don’t fall off during a ride.

6. Final Touches

Seat: Adjust the height and tighten the quick-release. If it’s too loose, twist the knob on the opposite side until the lever is hard to push closed.
Tires: Inflate to 20 PSI.
Battery: The keys are zip-tied to the handlebar (don’t lose them!). You don’t need the key to ride, only to unlock the battery for removal.

The Verdict

Bottom line? I’ve seen bikes in the $5,000 to $7,000 range that don’t have all the features this bike has. It includes metal pedals (not plastic), a bell, fenders, and high-end electronics. For the money, the Tenvels Plezo is a great buy. It offers the “sound of power,” incredible braking, and a high-quality build. Highly recommended!
